St George mounted on his white horse and wearing mediaeval costume will ride into the flag draped centre of Woodbridge at 11.00am on Saturday 22 April. He will do so against a background of special St George's day shop window displays, as part of the town's celebration of England's national day. The shops will be taking part in a competition to win a Champagne prize being given by The Georgian Coffee House.
St George will be backed up by the Pretty Grim Morris Dancers - Morris
dancers with a difference who perform blacked up.
For the children there will be balloon animals, plus St George themed events in the Library. For all the family Ye Olde Bell and Steelyard pub in New Street will be serving traditional English food at lunchtime. Tudor characters in costume will be at the pub and the stocks will be in use all day.
