Woodbridge Town Council is delighted to report that it has recently been awarded the national status of Quality Town Council and is now one of only a handful of Town and Parish Councils in Suffolk with such status.

Town Clerk Mrs Chris Walker and Mayor Martin Sylvester receive
the
QTC status award certificate for Woodbridge Town Council
from
Mrs Mary Mitson-Woods.
The Quality Scheme was designed and launched by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, in June 2003 and provides a benchmark minimum standard for Town and Parish Councils, and enables them to better represent the communities they serve. The scheme also aims to give enhanced relationships between local councils, principal authorities, and community and voluntary sector organisations.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Suffolk Association of Local Councils, Mrs Mary Mitson-Woods presented Woodbridge Town Council with the certificate designating its new status.
Received by the Mayor, Councillor Martin Sylvester and Mrs Chris Walker- Town Clerk, herself duly qualified under an accreditation scheme for Clerks, the Mayor said:
“It is a wonderful endorsement of the work this Council has been doing, to be awarded this privileged status.”
