Christmas Shop Window Competition

GIANT ADVENT CALENDAR WINS

A giant advent calendar that filled one window of Young Browsers' bookshop window won the Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce Shield for best Christmas display. It was devised and constructed by shop manager Catherine Larner.

A new box in the display opened each day in the run up to Christmas, and showed a product offered in the shop. Paddington Bear drawing a sleigh laden with gifts appeared in the other shop window.

The competition was judged by Mayor Nigel Barratt. The Shield, plus a case of wine, was donated by Scott Matheson-Barr of estate agency Gobbitt and Kirby, who described the display as 'An honest, from-the-heart design, which appealed directly to the shop's young customers'.

Runners up were Chattertons, on Market Hill, and Travel Quest, in Church Street.
