FREEDOM OF THE TOWN OF WOODBRIDGE TO THE 23 ENGINEER REGIMENT

Woodbridge Town Council has given the
Freedom of the Town of Woodbridge
to the 23 Engineer Regiment
27 July 2006

o acknowledge this, and the fact that the Regiment will be moving to their new home at Rock Barracks, three Squadrons of the Regiment (approximately 150 soldiers) will be marching through the town on Friday 15th September 2006, with fixed bayonets, accompanied by a Regimental Band.

The parade will commence at 10.55am and the route will be as follows:- Burkitt Road to Shire Hall (Market Hill) to salute invited dignitaries, march down Church Street, Quay Street, turn right into Station Road, then fall out at the car park adjacent to the Deben Pool.

I write following my letter of the 27th July 2006, to inform you that the planned Parade through the Town of the 23 Engineer Regiment has been postponed due to their imminent deployment to Afghanistan.
